If you are looking for a Sunrise System Dawn Simulator Review, and you want the honest truth, then you have come to the right place. If you are in a hurry, here is the link to the cheapest sunlight alarm clock that we could find:
Suprisingly, Amazon stock the cheapest markup on this little sad alarm clock. To be brutually honest, there are much better dawn simulator SAD alarm clocks on the market, and you can do far better with your money than spending it here.
The Sad Light Box team have a favourite SAD Alarm Clock – Philips HF3463 Wake Up Light With Radio Alarm. This will serve you better, look smarter, and give you the light therapy benefits that you want. It is also significantly cheaper than the Sunrise System Sad Alarm Clock, at just £52.13 due to the big discount that we found for you.
When we looked at the Sunrise System and Philips lights side by side, we saw just how different they were. The design of the Sunrise System is smaller than the Philips, but it just looks tacky for lack of a better word.
The Philips Wakeup Light can be set up to 300 Lux to mimic natural daylight. The intensity of the light increases over the wakeup time. There are also two wakeup sounds to choose from – bird song or a buzzer. There is also an FM radio, which to me is the preferred option to wakeup to. However, with the dawn simulator, you will probably find that you won’t need the alarm too.
There are so many brilliant reviews on the Philips dawn simulator. Here is just one of many that we collated:
“I’m really pleased with this purchase. The light comes on gradually so it is not at all harsh. I have it set quite bright though or I would sleep through it! I have the wake up alarm set on bird song, which is lovely, although if I needed to get up early I think I would have to use the radio alarm as there would be a danger I would sleep through the bird song as it is such a gentle awakening. There is also a bleep wake up alarm option which sounds a bit like a dripping tap. Again, not very loud. Great for gentle awakenings, possibly less good if you really need to get up and get out as you may sleep through it!”

However, the Sunrise System Dawn Simulator has not had the same good press. It has been reported to have an annoying hum, and the clock digits fade after weeks of use. When we ordered this model, we were very disappointed to see the poor quality. Our panel also reported no change in thier mood and energy levels as the negatives outweighed the positives.
Our favourite dawn simulator alarm clock on the market at the moment is undoubtedly the Philips. We hope you make the right choice for your lifestyle and needs. If you live in the US, our favourite it the NatureBright Dia2. See the link below for more details.
